algae problem

What is the best way to get rid of a red algae problem in my tank? I am not sure where it came from but it seems like everytime that I clean the glass and rock it comes back two fold...

a little advice would be great

I have never had the problem but the 4 steps I have dread for limiting red algae are get true siamese algae eaters, make sure you are not somehow adding iron, add CO2, and add fast growing green plants.

blue-green algae(caused by poor water conditions)
green algae(caused by too much light)
brown algae(caused by inadequate light)
