In the article it says to use a 1:19 bleach:water combo bath for 2-3 minutes... Sounds SO bad, but he says in practice it really works well.

I've used Potassium Permanganate to dip new plants will kill the snails/algae that come with most orders.
It's safer than bleach, and where as bleach can kill plants in a hurry, they stand a better chance using this stuff.

I available in most hardware stores, but I think shipping it has been banned for some reason or another (someone mentioned 9/11.)
