I have my 55 gallon freshwater tank. Right now i have 1 blood parrot, pleco, goldfish and koi. I know that these fish typically dont live together but for right now its all i have.

Just recenlty i have had an issue with algea, and its been getting worse. Its gotten all over my decor and even started to grow on the glass and glass lid. My pleco is about 12" long but doesnt seem to eat any of it, never has really. My ph is normal, ammonia normal, i use LED lighting and do water changes often. Its only a 55g and im using 2 Aquaclear 70's and 1 Eheim 2217 filter. Rocks for substrate and feed mainly shrimp pellets and blood worms. Also tank is planted with bamboo plants. Water temp around 72 deg.

Attached is a short video i made today just to show the tank. I had just cleaned all of it off the walls and lids.

Any ideas on a bottom feeder that could help me out, or new setup? i was told to get an Oto Catfish, but cant find them anywhere, all sold out.

Well, pleco is too big and goldfish and koi are not for the 55. Maybe get rid of those and get 2 more blood parrots if you like those, and get a medium sized pleco like a chocolate pleco...

Dont turn ur lights too much and get an uv sterilizer

Best algae cleaners r flagtails. They work 24/7 sucking

Algae thrives on light and nutrients. To reduce algae control the amount of light the tank receives and reduce the nutrient level through water changes. The best alge eater is any species of ancistrus.

I do have a uv sterilizer I just installed. Does led have the sane issues with light or is that just with standard bulbs?
