I have what I assume to be BBA in my 150. It grows in small tufts only on glass surfaces - walls of tank, jagr heater etc. It is crazy hard to remove! Right now I'm just using an algae pad and elbow grease - does anybody have any better tactics to remove this. Any type of algae scrubber on a long handle won't work, you cant press down hard enough to remove the algae w/o breaking the handle.

nerite snails. they don't breed readily and get big enough to do a good job but not so big they become an issue. my clown loaches ect never bothered them unlike other snails either. since I started keep these guys in my tanks no BBA

Wow - all better tips than I was expecting! I was expecting "suck it up & scrub hard, quit being a baby" guess it pays to ask. Thanks for all the responses, I'll try the credit card first. I've also seen metal bladed scrapers & I've been reluctant to try them - scared of scratches, but I might give it a shot. I tried some MTS in the tank, but they did little for the algae and my viejas are large enough to eat them now. I like the look of nerites and will give them a shot if all else fails. Not a big fan of chemicals, but might have to go that route in the end.
