Algae scrubber as bio filter.

Only nitrates at 35ppm. Temperature 73f ph at 7.0
I should have bought a ammonia test, but I have no real use for it. The seachem "gauge worked. About a month ago when I first tried. Without much algea on the media.
I don't expect it to succeed, so I have not thrown much money at it. I am mostly curious. If it works , I have a pool filter to rig with 50 watts.
My tap water is about 10ppm. The tank was filled with 25ppm water change water from my other 75 gallon tanks. I should have done a water change, but I had some plumbing. That needed to be arranged.
The tank has 8 compartments. Arranged in series, so a water change, can be done with out ever draining the tank down.
Some day this tank will be connected to my top living room tank. It needs a float switch connected to a pump. Very odd set up.

The algea bio balls. Well I cleaned out the last chamber, to get rid of any potential bacteria holding out in some detrus.
The lights were not at full output, due to wire corrosion. Twisted copper, They are soldred and sealed now.
Thinking about throwing a shrimp in the mix if nothing changes soon. How long can a tank hold out with out any bio media?
