So does anyone like to leave a wall or set of rocks etc with a natural algae growth for their fish to graze on? I've left a side and back to my current tank covered in algae. When I come back to my office from a long weekend, I've noticed that my big yellow lab will poop green. I think they like it...

I dont have algae in my tank? i dont know why but not on glass rocks, notching oh only on the filter intake a lil bit but thats cleaned 2x a month lol

I love the look of algea on my rocks but every now and then I clean it off to get that CLEAN just set up tank look.

Let it grow, let it prosper....

If you have other Mbuna, you will see more green poop.

I've got this awesome algae on my rocks that gives my tank a marine feel. I see my frontosas, plecos and well pretty much all of my fish munching on it occasionally. I love it, it reminds me of the coral reefs I've seen in Hawaii. As far as turning your water green, that's an algae bloom. That can happen even if you don't have any visible algae in your tank, it's just algae that doesn't cling to anything.

My problem is the uber-algae, as I've started calling it, that's in my sand. This stuff is so strong that I can't get it out with a siphon...
