Algae killers work great. Until a week or two later when the algae comes back. You need to figure out the cause (excessive nutrients, too much light, too long a photo period) and address that.

My tank is right beside my glass door so everymore i cover it up with a black sheet of plastic and take it off during the afternoon afterschool.

No no sunlight in the room. I have blackout curtains in my bedroom so no sunlight comes in. Could it be that I keep my water at an average of 81-82 degrees? I just did an 80% water change today as well. Mixed up all the substrate used my gravel vac and changed the scenery.
