Algae

It's just diatoms. A pleco of an appropriate size should help, or perhaps a couple of dozen nerite snails

I love my common plecos, what algae? one a tank is all it takes. polish the wood, clean the sponges, clean the glass. intakes, all of it. all you need to do is a good vacuum every water change. Its a fair trade off.

I like plecos as well. I would have one now, but I'm afraid it would damage my staurogyne repens. I have some nerite snails and some otos, so far they remain relatively unmolested, but I expect that may change as the tanks primary occupant increases in size and aggressiveness

dig the Les Paul Avatar.

I also either like the 3D backgrounds, and allow algae to grow for the natural look, or..
I paint styrofoam panels black, and tape them to the back. With a black background the algae just blends in (to my eyes).
And the styrofoam adds insulation against temp change.
I also like the black background for taking photos.

as you can see. I let algae grow everywhere.

Nice tank, but diatoms have wreaking havoc on my staurogyne repens
