alge control?

this is my 1st african tank and just not sure about plecos. i heard fish will harass them. saulosi com in 55 is what i have.

The best way to always do it is cleaning it yourself. But its not bad to add an algae eating fish, but I couldnt recommend you anything since I am not familiar with Africans that much. Although, I have heard form a few people that have plecos in with Africans.

I have 3 L numbers in my tank Golden Nugget, Green Phanton and another not sure of the name. But mine don't care a thing about the L's.

I have had a rough time with plecos in my mostly Haplochromine tank. They are just cannon fodder from what I have seen. Non algae eating synodontis hold there own, tho. In fact, my big one (a real pig) harasses the cichlids!

BN = bristle nose or bushy nose

i have plecos in all my cichlid tanks both south american and african.. never had any problems

for one thing, they don't get huge like most common plecos do
