Yep, and they are one of the pleco species that DOES really eat algae. If you really want a pleco to handle algae, your best bet woud be a BN pleco, they also stay fairly small.
 
Pleco's will do just fine.
Your African's may nib on them at first, but the pleco(s) will put them in their place.
Well, mine did. But the great size of my pleco's contributed. (+15")
 
algae comes with the hobby..........snails, pleco's and cats only work alittle bit they can't always eat all the algae fast enough......you can put your light on timer to control the lite output, buy a lower watt bulb,keep your tank in a darkroom, treat the water with algaefix, and still the algae comes.................buy a tank cleaning sponge-grin and bear it- it's part of being an aquarist.
