i have a small alge problem in my 40 gal tank. only fish are 2 needlenose fish. i was wondering what i can put in the tank to help the alge problem. they all ready ate 1 big pleco and 1 small pleco. so not sure what else i could put in there to control the alge

what sort of algae? uv would help unless its brown algae then ozone would work

it's the basic brown aka slime alge. i mean i can wipe it off but looking for a better way to prevent this from happening

get a chemical like algeagone
and u could try a farlowella cat, it probably wont get eaten =)

i'm not sure those will work unless i get a full grown one. but it is an option. anyone else have any ideas

malaysian trumpet snails work great, and all you need is 1 to get you going. I have 2 planted tanks with identical lighting, one has algae eaters (various ones) and the other only has the snails. The snails work better. It takes a while for them to really get going though.

aren't the snail kinda bad to put with the needlenose. i mean they are small and they might try to eat them. then end up getting hurt from there shell
