i have a 75g with mixed africans about 30 pcs... my problem is my tank's is outdoors (its the only place i have for it) and always under the sun and algea always build up massivelyeven i have a good filtration, and im fed up doing water changes every week coz of algea...is there anything i can put to the water to lessen the algea??? pls help

snails and pleco's....snails should do the job though!:D

Snails and plecos will eat certain types of algae, but will still contribute to the algae. Another good method is the use of plants. Try adding some floating plants, or amazon swords.

Not sure what you were saying... You put in 5 commons and they all died because of your african cichlids? If you get a larger common, 5" or so, they won't bother it much. What kind of algae is it?

Those are actually two different types of algae. Green water won't be taken care of by any fish. Green algae on the glass will be taken care of by plecos, but you need to get bigger plecs. Try a 5" common.

ok thanks for the info...im setting up my 75g tonight...do i have to put gravel/sand or bare bottom? thanks again dude...you rock

try covering the Tank the part that gets to much sun light with a dark blanket or you need to invest in blinds that darken in the daylight hours. I know partial water changes are a irritant but we must do what we have to do. Also increase the o2 in the tank you don't want to many snails then you might get a snail infestation.
