I went to this Chinese fish store called Dragon Aquarium today....I found this food call Alife which is supposivly specially formulated for Flower Horns....I wasn't sure exactly what the bottle says because it's in Chinese writing but i would like to know what it does and if it actually works....If Any of you have heard of it plese let me know because i bought some and have just started feeding it to my baby red Flower Horn...Thanks

from what i have read, it is a really good food. remember, variety is best. dont only feed one food, do a combo of a few different pellet foods, some frozen market shrimp, etc

From what I read it is good too...

Oh yeah I dunno if you think this looks good...but My uncle bought a 1" FH and we've been feeding it ALIFE ever since...this is what it looks like..

alife is basically use for fh coloring... you must be carefull in using it coz some fh react as differently... good red coloration, some show very dk coloration, some fh suffer sds (sudden death syndrome). rule of thumb if you attain the coloration you need then stop, rest for a week or two.

So really...how much should i be feeding him at a time....like i notice he an down 10 at a time....but how frequently is once a day ok or should i feed this food once every other day? i Feed him a variety of food three times a day which consists of bio-gold cichlid pellets, Alife, krill, blood worms, and a mini type of pellet formulated by big als

Alife's protein content is too high. Although it is very good in enhancing your fish's color, feeding too much can damage the digestive system and gills. If you feed it to your FH once a day in minimal amounts, I guess that would be ok. Here in the Philippines, we only use it when there's a show or competition to enhance the color. Other than that, I seldom use it. Try Chingmix Maxima, XO Ever Red or Grandsumo Red, these products are safer to feed to you FHs ( I hope they're available in your area). Goodluck!
