my water naturally has high alkalinity, which im guessing has caused two fish deaths in the past few days, what can i do to lower the alkaline levels.

alkalinity which is also known as Carbonate hardness, you can lower with Seachems Acid buffer this will lower your pH though. you can also lower by adding water treated by reverse osmosis or deionized water. Also if you replace water that has evaporated with tap water your alkalinity will increase, this is because the water evaporates but the minerals do not. So 50% weekly water changes would help.

What type fish are you keeping, I dought that high alkalinity would lead to the death of your fish. What kind of fish did you loose?

Also high alkalinity means high pH and lower alk = lower pH if your alk gets to low your pH can become very unstable.

i dunno if it was what killer my fish or not, but i lost a gold severum and a silver arowana

What is the pH of your tank? the aro you added could've died from pH shock young aros are very sensative and can't handle a large pH shift.
