Yes they can tolerate the high temps over the summer months just like they would in the wild. But will need the longer cold season for long term survival and needing.

They are said to survive from 14-28 because the subtropical climate they are from has weather & temperature variations seasonally. As I mentioned without the proper temps for a prolonged winter period they will die off.

Also anything over 24 ish is and extreme for their natural habitat and although they might survive it short term I highly recommend against it.

Probably the best move. If you really want channas, there's a variant of sub-trop that can go tropical depending on collecting point. But I forget what it was. Was it gachua? D -DC-
