Be careful when transporting large adults. I had to be put in the hospital after one got me with it's pectoral spine in the right forearm. Did signifcant muscle damage. Two of us where lowering a 54 lb. animal into an exhibit, it decided he wanted nothing to do with us while we were holding the stretcher. Went right through my 5mm wetsuit.

We fed large amounts of frozen fish (freshwater smelt), earthworms, crayfish and Mazuri Aquatic gel diet to ours. They will at least attempt to eat anything they can get their mouth around.

RTC has been my most wanted fish for many years. I finally have room in the basement to build an indoor pond measuring 16' x 8' x 4' and could finally house one without worry. The thing is that it would probably kill anything I put in with it. I have always wanted stingrays and Arowanas as well and they could mix in a pond that big. So I probably will never own a RTC. They just get too damn big! I hate to say it, but they shouldn't even be offered in the trade.

I got a 1ft plus RTC... should see him in action when it slam the 8" sucker fish by using it mouth and slam it on my fish tank.. cool.

another guy had a 30" RTC that liked to do the same thing zeroneox mentioned, only with a 20" dovii.

all i know that they are big eaters and they grown damn fast. U can feeed them market prawns to save money.
