Yes its a 240 8'x2'x2'. I was going to put african cats in there....a school of syn multi's (like 5 or so)...a school of petrocloi...a syn angelicus....and a eupterus. Only thing I was worried about is the petrocoli and multis are not real big...would one of the jumbo haps try to eat it? I would think they couldnt with the spins. I have kepts them in a tang tank before...but not with 10" haps.

Synos will be no problem at all. To do what you are planning I would definitely have everyone young. Also be prepared with another tank for fish that don't fit in well. (Or have a good relationship with you LFS so you can trade for a different one.)

I found with the larger haps they tend to focus on the same fish... Usually for me smaller (IE half the size of the fish or smaller) OBs, or silver fish were always though as food.

Then just make sure everyone is getting food. It will be tough exspecialy for the synos... My larger haps will grab anything before it gets halfway towards the tank. (I used to have a syno in with haps, but he was never getting any food, moved him out and he did great.)

Anyways good luck, and for larger orders it might be smart to order online. (I like Erik Dyke for the larger fish, smaller I would go with say bluegrass, or atlantis. There are a ton of reviews out there. Check them out and find the place that has the most types that you want. If you really are going for 50 different types at once you likely will have to order from different places.)

And also remember small = more likely to work out in the end, but years of growing. Buying large = likley more problems but well you skip the wait. I tend to like to buy at least 3 inches or larger.

Finally check out your local clubs. See what fish they have that the market is flooded. (IE fryeri, T Reefs, German reds, Cap borleyi all are 1 buck for 6.)

Finally greenearthlawns, can you please stop shouting at us. (In other words can you please take off the caps.) Thanks.

My plan is for young fish...i'd really like to get them around the 2-3" size as they are starting to color up so I know its all males. I don't mind waiting and having them grow...and I know its a better chance of them all working that way. I will have another tank on standby as well...or my sump...and I used to work at one LFS many years ago so I got a place to drop off the fish that dont work. I want to order online tho becasue the selection price and helt is probably better than the lfs here. I will probably have to make a few orders to get all that I want. I dont know if i'll try to get 50 different ones (seems like that would be hard) but I will get a lot of different ones. I also like the idea of a few yellow labs and yellow tail acei's in the mix.

Are the colors on F1 fish any better than just the reg tank raised many gen fish? I want really nice samples of the fish that I get.

Nolagt..........sounds like it will be a nice setup when your done.

Have you considered any dolphins or frontosas? I know they wouldn't mix well with some of the fish you mentioned but they look awesome in a large tank.

Whatever you decide, good luck and please post pictures when your done. :)
