Very Interesting concept. I think I'll follow your lead and partition my quart size soup containers to hold more Bettas.

None of my ideas are original. I just make them work for my situations.

i think that is a myth.. i think they do that for a couple of days and just like anything else it wears off seeing the same guy next door over and over..they show just as much aggression towards themselves when they see their reflection.. and really i think it is good that part of the time they have something to do.. but for the most part i really think theres more made out of it then it really is.
