2 days ago... i had some time on my hands so i decided to work on my fish tank.. my current 55g planted discus tank was FILLED with guppies whom have been in there since day one when my set up was a 40g. the guppies kept multiplying... and started filling up the tank more and more. i filled up the tank 3/4 way with water and then added discus buffer, dechloronizer and used old filter media to run the tank... me being somewhat impatient, netted out over half of the guppy population from the 55 and put them in the newly set up 40g. without waiting for the water to fully cycle and conditions to get food for its future inhabitants, i dumped the bucket up guppies in there... today, i wake up to a tank full of dead guppies:(. some of which were my favorites ones.. color, tail shape, *sigh*....... never again will i wait 1 day to transfer my fish... eventhough these are only fancy guppy, the granddaddy and momma of them died too! im sad...

That sucks. It always pay to wait for the tank to be ready. Patience is key.

sorry... what a loss...

Sorry for the loss, you've learned not to it again

sorry to be mean... but I would retitle the post "I killed all my fish"

Isn't it half not all? Guppy are very sensitive with water and as an owner you should know it by now. Well lesson learn, lucky you still have other half to start again :).
