Those things are creepy looking... but somehow cool. Like... a vampire or something. It's bottom jaw is terrifying.

How big do they get/where are they from?

^ Thanks! Aside from Zoos I am having a VERY difficult time tracking down anyone that has grown them to much over a foot in the home aquarium. So I am going to hang on to this one for a while and see what happens. The Armatus don't really dig him, but the Odoes do.... They hang out together in the same corner of the pond.

okay so these look real mean but really aren't?I seen them with frontosa, bass, clowns etc in these pics in this thread-basically they're kool to have as tank mates with other aggressive fish of equal size?

He just left the pond to teach the Armatus, then went back in. He's too comfy in the pond. Started freeking out when I had him in the tank. Yeah I saw Trev's ZOO pic...... I just don't understand why these things are able to reach Armatus lengths in the wild but yet no one has a big one in the home aquarium...... I really need to find some more.

My Armatus are in the same pond as the Rhaph right now but the pond is divided. I'm trying to get my recently aquired 300 gallon up and going for the Armatus.......
