All set up for my upcoming 450g

After work I stopped by the 2 LFS's that still had their boxing day sale and made my final boxing day purchases. I ended picking up 2 x ac110's, 2 x 1200gph Powerheads and alot of bio media. They had a great sale on the items I needed:D With the added ac110's and powerheads for circulation on top of my FX5's I should be good for filtration. Now my question is I was thinking of using the FX5's for mostly bio and the ac110's for mech filtration. Would there be enough bio filtration coming from the 2 FX5's or would I need more? What do u guys think?

oh and btw thanks for the advice on adding HOB filters, they had great sales on them.

Depending on the stock for the bio media. But the fx5 is also good for mech filtration as well as bio. 2xac110 and 2xFX5's will be really good in your 450gal.
 
u are perfect in that thinking, a little bit of mech at the beginning of ur fx5's rest bio, ac110's lots of mech and some bio at the end

Ya I was thinking pre-filter on top tray, the rest bio on bottom trays for the FX5's, and just sponges and carbon for the AC110's.

Stock is the 3 Aro's, 2 Pbass's and the RTC. Later down the road I will be stocking a HBRTG aro with a few Frontosa and the Tigrinus in the 225 but before that once my Juruenses, RTC/TSN, and 3 tem pbass's grows up a bit I will put them in the 225 and when the RTC/TSN and tem pbass's grow up more I'll throw him in the 450 as well.
