I'd love to see you back cross a daughter to the texas daddy. You'd get fertile male fry out of that pairing.
If you felt you'd lost too much of the jag looks at that point, you could then back cross again. This time using a 75% texas son back to the 50% texas mother. You'd then have fry that were 62.5% texas 37% jag. The texas blood should still be enough at 62.5% to produce fertile male fry, although I have not proven that part of the theory out for certain.
