All the way to the top?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Some people dont fill the aquarium up all the way, my prefference is to fill it up to either A) a point where you cant see the water line anymore
B) a point where you cant hear the filters running (splashing)

if you have a hang on back filter with a tube that sucks water from the bottom ti is best to have the h3o level as high as safely permissable, as this allows the pump to work with less strain.

If you have hard water, I would fill your tank till you can't see the water level. Otherwise you will get a calcium build up if you don't wipe it down every day. And once its there, its a pain in the ass.

Always preferred tanks filled to the very top.
If you can see the water line, (with no above water background or feature like in public aquariums), then the tank looks incomplete.

Me too.. THAT IS UNTIL... I seen an awesome Archer set up :D

piranhas and u live in LA? hmm... but yah keep ur tanks filled to the top. its only a few more gallons and it keeps ur tank nice n quiet. gives ur fish a few more gallons to swim in too.

All my life, I was under the impression to leave a 1-2 inch gap of air space to allow proper gas exchange.....Say what you want, but all my lfs's and fishfanatics around me never fill to the top just because of this reason....:nilly:
