So ive had my alligator for like 2 months, i got him when he was about 6" long hes roughly 8" now. HEs in a 150, and he gets like so excited when he sees his reflection, he like hits his head on the tank and everything, and now ive noticed he has like osme white spots on his back no pics sorry, but they are like maybe dime size, 2 or 3 of them. im not sure if maybe its from him hitting the tank, becaus ei noticed he had one on his snout, but its gone now though. Thanks for the help.

Sounds like loosened scales from banging himself into the cover, walls, etc.

Young gars depend on their camouflage to conceal themselves from danger and feel secure in their environment. In the wild, young gars keep to the shallows in weeds, driftwoods, and under fishing docks.

Place some floating plants (real or artificial) at the top of your tank and the gar should calm down in short order. Be sure to place in enough so the gar can conceal himself completely. As the gar matures, he'll wean himself slowly away from his "security blanket".

sweet thanks for the help man...what are the best types of plants? ive been looking around, but i dont reeally know exactly what im looking for... just...anything?

Yep, anything. The low-dollar way to go is to get the plastic plants from the hobby section at wal-mart. Just make sure the plants aren't the ones with metal shaping wires inside. Anything with soft long leaves will work fine.
