Alligator, Longnose and Bowfin

Yea I have been trowing the idea around for a bit I can get spotted longnose and shortnose gars close to me. I'm thinking as long as there's an aerater in the pond they would be good even if it dose freeze over

Been debating making my koi pond a gar pond with some help from billybob. This thread reminded me how badass that would be. Great looking fish. My ponds about 60 degrees in my basement over winter. That should be fine right. They may be a bit lethargic.

Longnoses can take fairly cold water. I'm stationed in Missouri right now and I catch LNG in the river on post. I caught one last winter in February in about 40* water. That being said, don't stick any gars you may get in 40* water on what I say. You are responsible for your own actions. LOL
