alligator or florida gar ?

well i picked him up he is soooo cool looking lol 
have him in my 75g right now with some other small cichlids, guy i got him from said he was feeding him bloodworms... he likely close to 6" tho so tiny hehehe... hoping i can move the peacock bass and the 2 big oscars outta my 140g and put the gar in there, more room for him to move round and etc, figured the 10g with my small 2-3" bass i have is way to small for him to be in too

You'll want to make your tank around the gar. They spook easy and can break their spine. Choose your tank mates wisely

yep i did some reading on them about the stuff ya mentioned, im looking at doing a silver aro, that gar, couple pbass, with him all around 6-7"
That's a bad idea; gars do not do well with silvery fishes & aggressive fishes like arowanas, peacock bass, cichlids, & most catfishes. I had a big Florida gar that looked like it was put through a meat grinder because the previous owner kept it with peacock bass & other unsuitable tankmates.
They almost always do well with other gars, bichirs, South American lungfish, and Australian lungfish; they sometimes will be fine with stingrays, but it doesn't always work that way.
Hmmmm, why don't they get along or do well with a silver coloured fish ? And I do have a bichir in the tank with him now ..
They have similar coloring to their natural prey plus they tend to freak out when around ones that are around their size or larger.
Hmm, weird.... How do all these other guys keep aro and gars together ? See lots of videos and even some guys on here
