Alligator snapper shell growth

As from the thread title, I would want your opinions on whether is there deformity on my snapper's shell. It's appears that the central ridges(directly behind the turtle's head and it runs down the shell), the central scute of the ridge appears to be slightly lower than its front and back scutes. This causes a slopping effect that I wonder if its a defect. Opinion please?

I agree, it kind of looks like he has a shark fin sticking up there. Interesting... it almost looks like the scutes in front of that one were filed down a little bit. The whole shell looks a little different to me, I can't quite place it though. Did you just get him or have you had him for awhile?

You may want to post this over on turtleforum.com, they are the turtle equivalent to MFK and you will likely get better and more informed response over there.
 
Did u catch it or buy it? If it was wild, could have had something (i.e. boat) hit it when young. The shell may have developed that way as a result of the injury.

If it was captive bred, must have been kept in absolutely terrible conditions. Or could have just lost the genetic lottery. Looks like he's a fighter tho, looks healthy other than shell.
