Alligator snapping turtle shell HELP!

Hey guys just wanted to check if my alligator snapping turtle has shell rot or it's shedding.
The white spot on its shell is hard and i'm not sure if it's shell rot or an injury, can anyone help me identify the problem?
Hope i can get an answer and treat the problem asap

is it soft? If it is still rigid then there is nothing to worry about.
 
looks like it is rubbing something. Just keep an eye on it. Let us know if it starts to spread.

Today i used a soft brush to brush it's shell gently and it happens that more of it's shell is turning white.
Hope someone could help me identify the problem....

Please give us a pic of the whole setup as well as a complete description of how you are caring for it including lighting and diet. I have kept them in the past for about 10 years and had them from hatchling to 50 lb size.

I had a reptile heat lamp and a uvb lighting for it.
Diet: Minnows , ghost shrimps and carrots

I make it a habit to do a 10% water change every week

Setup looks good. Unless it is barely eating I would do at min 50% water change every week and if feeding heavy then make that 50% twice a week. Rather it is fish or turtle when they eat seafood they tend to expel a lot of ammonia in their waste. It is possible that the shell damage is due to ammonia burn. If it is it will grow out of it with better water quality over time.
