alligator snapping turtle

i would buy one if could. i've checked all the lfs within a hundred miles, im kinda out in the middle of no where, i will check my laws.

sorry man thats illegal in most states. either buy one or get a baby common snapping turtle they live very long and get big too, though not as big. there have been alligator snapping turtles found with musket balls lodged in them from the civil war that are still alive today! thats over 200 years old just to give you an idea

i just checked your oklahoma law on this and it is a protected species. sorry, but still dont give up on turts! get a common snapper like i said

dont buy a common, catch one its funny, you wanted to catch a turtle that is protected and very scarce but now you are willing to buy a much more common one. just thought that was a tad funny

you actually can purchase a common or an alligator snapper. loggerhead achres sells allys as well as common snappers. please dont take them out of the wild. remember how long they live (200 years). you will need to include your pet alligator snapper in your will. common snappers live around 50 years or so and dont get quite as big so they make better pond pets.

I saw that on the tv show Dirty Jobs about the musket balls lodged into a alligator snapping turtle. It is cool that they can live that long.
