Does Alligator tortise can be kept with larger african pikes?

Never heard of an alligator tortoise. If you're referring to alligator snapping turtles, don't ever keep them with any fish you intend on keeping. They're consummate predators that have no problem attacking, killing and eating prey larger than they can handle in one bite. Also, these turtles reach well over 150 pounds so a HUGE enclosure is required along with a ton of maintenance since these turtles produce alot of waste.

Here's one not even half grown at a mere 45 pounds.

typo error , yes snappers , saw a juvenile at the fish shop , that means they are plain nasty and should be alone in a species pond?

Yeah man.
Dont get one unless you are ready to take it on. And they eat EVERYTHING.
fish gravel marbles hotdogs ducks...fingers.
BTW i got mine on pellots.

eventually you will need a pond. eventually meaning a year or two.
they grow really fast. but with enough food and filtering you might could keep some LARGE fish in the pond with it. IE 3 foot catfish

how many sub-species there are on snappers? are all aggressive?

Thewre is only one species of alligator snapper. M. Temminicki.
There are several sub species of common snappers though.
Commons are more agressive then gators snappers.

But all have a very strong feeding response.

lucky i didn't bought it , man the juvenile looks harmless and puny, how about mata mata? any expericence?

i guess for the most part. the young one are fairly harmless unless your a guppy

Alligators should not be with dfish you don't want them to eat. Also, alligators should have a level of water where they can breathe without undue stress and effort, which, with a juvenile alligator is not a level of water suitable for fish "you want to keep alive".

The ph for african cichlids is way above the ph an alligator is best kept in.

This ph, if not unduly important for the aligator is of utmost importance to the mata matas. They only live well in acid water, tottally unsuitable for african cichlids.

If an alligator can try, and manage to, climb a rock ( NEVER SWIMMING ), a mata will only be able to breathe if its extended neck reaches the surface.

Mata mata are awesome turtles to have (as are allis and snappers generally ) if you dedicate yourself to their needs and study the best conditions to keep them in..

I would never advise such a turtle as an impulse.
