I agree with snakeguy except for his first sentances 
I personally believe that reptiles are actually capable of liking us in their own way but it can never really be compared to any sort of mammalian affection because they are not mammals... but i do think it is more than just tolerance or food association...in some cases... like anything else, they are all different and have their own personalities (although there are many that would argue that as well and say that reptiles are purely instinctual and do not have emotions or personalities, obviously not something i agree with)
but as far as the subject of this thread goes...yes what snakeguy said sounds about right
