Florida certainly has its wildlife. And I don't just mean the politicians.
Out here we have rattlesnakes if you go up into the hills but you never see them in the valley. Otherwise the biggest danger around here is from black widow spiders.
I was bit by one as a child when we lived in Cayucos but I survived the experience and now I kill them with great Glee and ferocity.
Bug spray only stuns them so you have to have a spray can to knock them down , and then whack them with a stick.

I may spray my driveway for brown widows today or tomorrow. They're everywhere. I bought cheap bug spray so it sounds like I need to be ready to smash if need be. Can't make up my mind on when to spray, night or day. I definitely would engage more at night, but I'd be running a gauntlet..

On the black widow spiders, I have them around my area. Not a lot. They like to build one of their ugly webs inside the water meter box that sits in the ground. I will need to replace the pressure valve and saw a web last time I looked. So bug spray a day of so ahead of time is not enough?
