Actually the fish company will be launching in a 3 or 4 stage format.
Origionally when I did the road trip to his facility it was to only get the 300g, could not pass it up a 300g 10ft long tank that has never seen water heck yah!!!
I had spoken to him previously about his fish company but it was beyond me at that time, but, when I showed up and saw the 8 foot 420g and the same with his fish shed something clicked in my brain that said GO GO GO GO GO GO GO GO
. I get like that as a business person, I see an oppourtunity not as it looks but as what it can be.
Trent was very sorry for the state of disrepair evident in his place, but personally I really did not even take a great notice of it. The best reference I can give to what was going through my mind when I actually handed him the cash for the 300g and read his reaction at being handed cash straight out was hmmmmmmm this looks to be the day to broker a deal.
Here would be my best reference. I also do old cars and when the time came to get our 54 jaguar I saw the problems it had but that did not deter me from getting it shipped here from ontario sight unseen except for pictures. Sure there is expense involved in getting the motor running, the brakes working and putting a new gas tank on it but do those things disuade me NO CHANCE!!! Simply because the chance to get a 54 jaguar is not something that comes across your plate so to with this fish business.
So now the issue is what to do with the fish company because its gonna come with a smack load of live fish!
Stage 1 BLAST OFF set up a fish room in my basement where the pairs of breeding angels will take up residence. Have to sacrifice my personal fish room I was going to do but meh I have my restaurant tanks so its a good trade. Move the 300g at the same time as transporting the angels. Go back and transport the empty angel set up and store it move the fish from the 420 and set them up in the 300g. Go back transport the 420g and other various tanks and stuff set up the 420g. go back and gather all the smaller fish and put them in the 420g. go back and gather up the other rack of tanks. During this time solidify all avenues of selling fish ie website, contacts of mine, business contacts given to me by trent etc...
Stage 2 build my outbuilding for the actual fish breeding company or find a suitable warehouse location I am leaning towards the first but will see depends on the lease price offered. when this facility is put together open up the clutch and pop a wheelie
Stage 3 a very real possiblity open up our lfs with a different focus than the usual pet store, basically it becomes a retail store front for our fish hatchery so that the local market is now able to come to us no need for shipping when people can make the short drive to us. the difference with this fish shop is it will have a small seating area where people can have a coffee etc....
Stage 4 a very real possibility as well is the opening up of our public aquaria tropical greenspace which will be a tourist attraction where people can come in for a moderate entrance fee, there will also be a place to sit and have a bite to eat since this facility will also double as a catering facility.
Stage 5 If we do it will be the franchising of the fish shop. Now to this one people may shake their head and go
