so for fish from the store, do i just thaw them to room temp??

Yep, just thaw it out and give it to him. You can give him good sized pieces or cut it small, if you cut it up it's less messy.

Could be the wild turtle has a smoother shell just because of wear in nature, without actually seeing the turtles myself I couldn't say, but it's possible.

VERY BAD idea Most meds avaible to us are for pet animals only, not for animals intended for consupsion, youll just poison your snapper
