I've been using these food grade Beard Covers for years so decided to share this with you great members. They are actually cheap and you can double or triple them up. The beard covers do pretty good collecting debri, fish waste, and food.

Top pic beard covers double over plastic egg crate to fit in the drawer of my diy trickle tower.
Middle pic just of the beard cover.
Last pic after use during wc's.

I love trying to find new ways of filtering my water. For some time now i've been using the insides of cheap pillows which is polyester batting. Basically it's just filter floss. But as an added bonus the big wad of the polyester inner comes in a very fine woven polypropylene pillow case. Unfortunately they are extremely fine and clog up too quickly for my liking. I'm trying to find a way to incorporate them into my systems.

Below is a picture of the twin pillow in a polythene case (top). Take the polythene off and you have the polypropylene outer case which houses the polyester batting (middle). Take the polyester batting out and you're left with what is, in effect, a huge extra fine polypropylene filter sock (bottom).
