Alternative to plywood tanks

Yes, that should make for an interesting background color.

The problem with PVC sheets is 1) structural integrity (needs reinforcement or exoskeleton) and 2) adhering the window to the PVC. Silicone will not adhere to PVC/Polypropylene sheet. Stainless hardware is needed to make the silicone a gasket vs seal. That runs a very high risk of cracking the panel. It can be done but there are a number of differences required vs common plywood designs.

Interesting.

I am now wondering about a hot tub with acrylic windows. Or maybe underwater cameras to save money? I don't know.

I will keep thinking.

I am curious, the epoxy liner isn't that much relatively speaking. I mean, it cost me ~$100 for my plywood build. I spent $300 on the wood itself and $150 for the donor tank. If I'd bought the glass outright it would have been close to $500 or so I bet. The liner isn't the pricey part of the build I'm afraid. Another thing is they WORK. You could try other methods, but if they fail within a couple years you lost it all plus your stock.
