  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
how is a 50 too small for a FH or texas but you recommend an a Comp that get 12"?

Find some nice small Gymnogeophagus like rhabdotus

Or if ya want a solo tank, there's always a nice pike. If ya lucky enough to find the supposed Dwarf Orange pike you could do a group of 5.

Check the Mayan Cichlid sometimes mistaken for P. Bass due to its spot on the tail and body stripes:

They are very agressive though and can grow to around 12 inch.

THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE TO THE REAL DEAL BABY!!:D

A Butterfly Goodeid looks like a LMB and acts like a bass, but eats algae, and not your fish. Grows to about 6"

A comp would take a hell of a long time to get anywhere near 12 inches

I have never personally seen one get over 8 inches I think 12 inches is a bit of an exaggeration. I found one site that said they would get 10 inches but that was the biggest I found

Care Level: Easy
Tank Conditions: 72-82°F; pH 7.8-8.5; KH 10-15
Max. Size In Aquarium: Up to 10"
Color Form: Orange, Silver
Temperament: Aggressive
Diet: Carnivore
Compatibility: View Chart
Origin: Africa - Lake Malawi
Family: Cichlidae

Also I would say the behavioral differences between a new world and old world cichlid would lead me to believe that a comp would do a lot better in a small tank than a FH or Texas

But like I said that is just my opinion. Take it or leave it ;)
