Altolamp spawns

I had one of my wc black congo calvus spawn and then had my wc gombe red comps spawn a couple days later. The calvus spawn pretty regularly, but this is the first time for my gombe comps. Both spawns survived a furnace failure in which the tank temps dropped about 8-10 degrees which I found interesting because usually their fry are so fragile.

Man that's cool, I just setup a 55 gallon tanganyikan tank and I hope I have as much success as you are.

The black calvus fry left the breeding bell this morning but the gombe comp fry don't seem to want to leave yet. I poured out the calvus cave they were in and about half the comp fry came out but she "cupped" herself tightly inside with the rest of the fry. I put the cave back in the water to let her relax and maybe get the rest of the fry out. I came back 5 minutes later and she had every single one rounded up and put back in her shell.

Here are the calvus fry that left their breeding bell this morning. I can usually keep about a 80% survival rate.
