24" minimum...bare minimum. 30" is better. 32-36" would be excellent. Plan on 15-20 gallons of water volume, per altum

Btw, do you know the growth rates for Altums? Do they grow fast or slow?

Generally speaking, a TR altum, given proper conditions will reach 12"+ in 18 or so months. WC fish generally take a little more time
