altum angelfish

are these true altum angelfish?

I am sorry but I am positive those are not altums. The line through the eyes, the shape of the mouth and the black, not brown vertical bars are an indicator to me.

Where did you get them? What were they sold to you as? What did your LFS label them as?

At best, they may be Peru "altums" which have not been classified as a separate species and are in fact scalare species.

Fantastic looking angels with lovely coloring none the less and I am waiting for my Peru's to arrive.

thanks for the input :headbang2:headbang2:headbang2 i didnt buy them yet the person claims their altums but i new it looked different and not normal but then it didnt look like your everyday silver so im not getting them :D unless the go really cheap thanks again

Who's the source and where were they obtained? They look like Peruvian scalares to me.
 
Okay, ask him where exactly he got them from. My thoughts on this matter is the reason I seem not to think they're altums is lack of erect fins and seemingly more elongated snouts similar to P. leopoldi. How do they behave at all?
