24 inches is what they need for adults. They get unbelievably tall.Just looking for a little knowledge. What would be a good min hight for a tank with these?

Very nice tank!Added all the altums to my 125g now and they love it.
I agree completely with the effect, but I have read that neons are angel's prey in the wild. If not, I will say that my P. Scalare happily eat half grown guppies, but I have never let them have neons, as I have never had neons live in my tanks. Another, slightly bigger tetra, like glowlight, or even Praecox rainbows, (I have some now, my favorite current fish, so I am a little biased) would be perfect.Remove those species and add about 100 neons would make that tank really mesmerizing

Just give the neons plenty of hiding places and the altums well fed, should help reduce predation. The bonus is you'll get a shoaling effect with the neons, so it may be worth it to have to replace them every so oftenI agree completely with the effect, but I have read that neons are angel's prey in the wild.
