Sorry i have no pictures of this :D!

Last night i was moving my rays around to make room for my pup that graduated and is joining the bigger rays.

I had to net and move 8 rays !

I started with my hybrid ray 11" female. Finally got her netted after soaking me and moved.

Next moved the Leopoldi, He basically swam into the net and was very easy to move @ 9"

Then i had to move my 11" male motoro. He did not want to be moved! I finally got him netted and transferred into a plastic tub. Then his stinger got hung up in the net REAL BAD! I was prepared so i has a pair of scissors and a pair of pliers.
The net i am using is a minnow bucket net and a 10-11" ray fits pretty tight in. He curled his tail up and had it caught, both stingers! He was in the net for 15-20 minutes as i was by my self working to get him freed.
I ended up thinking i was stressing him to bad, and could not get the net cut off since his 2 stingers were stuck around the wire frame of the net. I ended up PULLING out his new stinger he was growing in and it made a huge hole that was bleeding. took the pliers and cut the other stinger in half. Finally he was free! Was worried he looked very stressed, for about an hour. Through some food in and everybody ate including him!! No harm done!

I saw him already checking out big momma late last night, so hopefully he will get her pregnant again!

Moving the 3 hystrix, flower and leo x hen was no problem at all.

I hated it too, it burned me out moving that many of them. I am glad i did not have to move my big girl.

I know before i move them again i will get rubber net! It is too dangerous any other way!

yeah...i've always used large plastic bags to move my rays...and any large fish....hope the male is ok

large plastic bags? Like the ones you get fish shipped in?

yes...the ones the rays gets shipped in....this is only for moving from one tank to another...it's easy to get them to go in and the lift out without injuring them...imho
