always make sure you shut your hose off

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
the water ran from 8 last night until 7 this morning, so it was ice cold. Also in the process of all this I had a dead fish clog each of my over flows, so now I have an overflowing sump and 1000gph getting pumped back into the tank and since they were clogged now its 1000gph all over the floor. So yea, im not for sure how they all died, Just know everything was cool when I walked away from the tank last night, and EVERYTHING was dead this morning.

:( Gutted for you fella!!! Thats worse than loosing a missus!!!

That sucks man, sorry for the loss. :(

Some might have survived the cold, but probably not the chlorine on top of it.

That's terrible man, I'm really sorry. That was my thought, that all that water would have diluted whatever dechlorinater you used to the point where all the fish were exposed to untreated tap water.

Sorry to hear about that. I have been doing the bucket method for years (not by choice) and will soon be switching to long hoses to make it easier. I hope to not ever make the same mistake as you. One fish is tough enough, but a whole tank wiped out...yikes.

Thats rough, it ruined my day last weak when a couple gallons leaked on the floor. But a flooded basement and fish no more. Ill be prayin for you brother. Thats not gonna be a fun clean up.

Worst I've had is my 3 year old son starting a siphon up after I broke it while doing a water change. I left the hose in the tank while I was dumping the bucket. ;) About 5 gallons ended up on the floor before I spotted it. Wife wasn't too happy. I think she might divorce me if I flooded the house..

I don't leave hoses in the tank anymore when I walk away. :)
