IMO you don't need to cover the pond as long as you have something round the side which will stop the Aro form falling on the floor should it jump. This could be rocks and plants, glass, or a brick perimeter.

K then i guess i dont have to worry so much about it.

feeders are fine just make sure you qt them...top is not as big of a deal in an outdoor pond...

why would your feed brine shrimp to these massive beasts?

right i figured out how to QT feeders

I would put a net around it or a fence with fishing line above it so birds cannot eat your fish....feeders are fine just QT them for a week or so before feeding

But wouldt Blue Jays be to small to harass him? wouldt my RTC eat the birds when he is bigger? -cross's fingures-

well birds will fly over your property if they see a fish, they will come and try to get the fish.

my cousin had problems with birds and racoons getting his kois, he lived in raleigh, NC like 2-3 hours away from the coast

instead of feeders just feed them silversides, no diseases, etc.

but if you do: quarantine the feeders in a separate tank... treat them for internal parasites and external parasites if they are visible.
