I just separated my Krib fry from the parents who "accidentally" spawned in my community 55 gallon. Their parents are swimming around looking for their babies. they've been with their parents for about 2 weeks now, and the parents were just acting too aggressive with my Juvenille eartheaters. I'm getting the fifth degree from the misses...my "emotional capacity" is being challenged at the moment.

no u did fine cuz eventually they might try to eat them. and tell the misses thats like having puppies and never selling them!!

You have to do what has to be done. Its likely the parents would have picked them off when ready to spawn again anyway. You could have left a few in with them.

I'm hoping that removing the fry will calm the parents...they have my eartheaters forced into hiding. I have a 29 gallon spare that I think I'm going to start up and transplant them to it, set up a feeding factory for the knife and characin.

Well I would tell the misses about the feeding factory lol. Maybe try adding a couple back to the tank and see if that helps.

Could have left 2-4 of them for the parents to keep taking care of, that way if you miss the right time you don't lose too many.

I've been breeding kribs for around 15 years, and I've never ever seen them eat fry. I've had several generations of kribs all living together in one tank with zero issues. In my experience, the parents will even let older fry hang out together once the newest batch has a little bit of size on them. They're super great fish.
