Soft or open or anything like that is stressing them out...just leave them in the tank and do less of a water change at one time...
What is your reason for such large water changes all at once?

Won't the chemicals from the tap harm the fish while the water is being pumped back in via my python hose if i was doing 50% or so?

I thought conditioner had to take time to set in

Alot of people mix "in-tank" if that is your concern then mix the water in your rubbermaid and then add it to your tank via powerhead or small pump

Hey, good idea. I never thought about that before lol

i'll do 100% wc's when swapping out or moving tanks but not on a regular basis. i do have to say i have never lost a fish from this but it does have to stress the fish by netting em out every week. on average i do 65-75% weekly.

I do at least 50% a week on my 125s This week I did a HUGe water change on one of them b/c it was just so cloudy for some reason. I did like three 60% WCs throughout the day. And now it's clear I hope it lasts.
