Am I crazy for doing this?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hey, as least you tried it.
Yep. :nilly:

yea, good luck to you. that's a tough call but then, hey, i think if you'll be happier, it may be worth it to go back to spending wisely
I think I will be. I gave it 9+ months and it's not changing at all. That's just how it is here. Just last night we were behind in the freezer which rarely ever happens and everybody left besides us and I know for a fact if "dry" had as much work as we had left we would have been forced to help them out before we left. Stuff like that gets old fast when your literally working more than every department then they still want to make you help out in different sections.

Did they atleast pay you incentive at MBM?
Incentive to stay after 12 hours? No. If we hit over 100% of the rate we get incentive. I could care less about incentive when I'm making 15.25 an hour though. All I do is go in and hit my minutes and try to leave. I'm not trying to stay here all night, like some of these people do. People are crazy here, lol.

Minimum wage here is 9.00 hrly

It's 7.75 here I believe. I could go to $11 an hour with OT and still live okay with that.

For me it's just a quality of life. Simple as that. I like to live and it's not "living" at work.

Take the new job.. your not happy where you are.. you won't stay there anyway..let someone who does have bills get out from under.. and you try something different.. nothing wrong with doing a job you like better...

Exactly.

This was a good vent thread, lol.

Where in Ohio are you? I live in Cincy and the cost of living here compared to other parts of the country is cheap. I know guys supporting their families for 18/hr. They are living the highlife. Dont compare Az pay rates with OH.

If the old job hires you on full time, do you get benefits? 401k? Insurance? Do you get a raise for not being a temp? How quickly can you get out of the freezer and manage?

The current job sounds like an ideal schedule for going to college as well. You could pay for college with what you make. Go home after work catch a nap. Wake up at 7 go to class. be done by 10 or 11? Nap. go to work.

Ideal for college? No way! lol

When would I do homework or study for class. At 4 am when I get off work after working 14 hours or more. Then sleep for 4 hours then go into another 14 hous day or more. lol

The old job has benefits all that stuff and a pay raise after being a temp just like most warehouses. We live in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.

There's no possibility of managing, it tooks years for some people to get a managing job here and most times they take from other companies.

I have no life here at all. I work then get home and stay up till 6am because I can't fall asleep at first then sleep for 6 hours then go to work again. I have very little friends and get to see my GF for maybe an hour before she goes to bed. Sure I'm making the big bucks, but I'd rather go to school and get a degree and do something I like for 15.25 an hour not throw boxes the rest of my life.

Not trying to be rude, I just think were just on different wave lengths.

holy crap they don't pay you enough. I'd leave that place.... Freezer orderfiller/ selecter where I'm at pays 19ish starting out with the possibility of 25 an hour including full incentive.

Frost bite isn't worth 15 an hour...

I'd take the new job rather than stay at that old job where you're constantly stressed and overworked.

It's not worth it to be at a place where you're always unhappy and you're only making a little bit more too. An extra $2 an hour isn't going to make that big a difference in the long run.

Where you work? $15 for a warehouse job to start out pretty much is alot here. I wear freezer bibs and gloves and you gotta work fast so I don't get cold. Still sucks though. They called me and wanted to know if I wanted to come in Yesterday to work. I already work an average of 55 hours, NO I'm not coming in to help out. lol
