I have a 150 that I just set up. Trying to figure out what to stock. My (my wife's) idea is....

2 oscars
1 gt
2 jd
1 midas
1 grammode
1 jaguar

My filtration will be (4) AC110's.

I am not too worried about the aggression, I have a pleco who is a great mediator.

I think you'll have too much waste with the midas and jag along with 2 oscars. I would either go with the 2 oscars or the midas and the jag. The rest would just be trial and error IMO.

yep that sounds like a great mix . i have 2 oscars messy messy guys always cleaning because of them . that is the only one i would reconsider . dirty fish . dont decorate to much they will pull plants move everthing in the tank they dont like . lol

i think u could enjoy that setup for a year or so assuming u get all the fish as juvs but after that u would have to part with the O's or jag midas like rallysman said it would not work out as life long setup i dont know what grammode is but i would keep the jag midas and gt for sure just my opinion iam a cichlid man lol.

GT. Jag. RD. The oscars get hella big and the other fish will last...most oscar will devlope HITH (hole in the head)

they only get HITH if you keep then in poor water conditions.

I agree with buying them as juveniles, then you get to ]v[onsterize them!

i saw the red and the jag in place of the two oscars ...not only do these two have enough aggression for the tank but they are a nice contrast in colors in your tank...and like stated in the above i think the rest will be trial and error...good luck post pics when finsihed.

Thanks guys!

I have bought the midas, oscars, jd, and grammode. All of them are juvies., so I will grow them out and see how it goes from there. This tank should be completely different from my clown loach tank. I can't wait to see how they turn out.

From my experience, You can keep all those fish for a while (to make wife happy), till the jaguar (male) start hitting 10" and more, the midas male at 8" or more. Depends on temperament.
The above fishes will not tolerate other tankmates as it gets closer to the 12" mark, but there is always a chance that you might get a mellow jag or midas.

But what might work is:
2 or 3 oscars with JDs, plecos, other smaller CA cichlids, like firemouths, convicts.
