All fish keeping is trial and error. Give it a shot. Just be ready to move anyone who might get picked on.

That's what I was thinking, too. Each fish has their own personality, I will just have to see how mine turn out. I have an angel fish that is much worst in temperment than my grammode, so you never know how a fish is going to act.

Not reading anything except for the title of your thread. The answer I must regretfully tell you is... yes, you are crazy.
best of luck with the selection

Really, the only problem I see would be with the Jag and Midas. The way I see it is there would only be room for one ruler and they would both try. I would do one or the other with those to, and maybe pick out something ealse with a little less aggression. Like: Bigger Geo's, Firemouths, T-Bar cichlids, pink convicts (when they get big they look like little midas).

I have a 150 that I just set up. Trying to figure out what to stock. My (my wife's) idea is....

2 oscars
1 gt
2 jd
1 midas
1 grammode
1 jaguar

My filtration will be (4) AC110's.

I am not too worried about the aggression, I have a pleco who is a great mediator.

gotta be honest, I think you have about a 1% chance of that setup working out long-term. in jags, midas and grammodes, you're talking about 2 highly aggressive species and one ultra territorial species. in order for your setup to work long-term you'd have to wind up with a rather mellow specimen of each of those species and the odds of that are pretty slim imo. I would personally leave out all 3 of those and stick with just a gt, 2 jd and 2 oscars and even that might be pushing the envelope a little especially if you happen to wind up with a breeding pair of either jd or oscars. I'd stick to one of each and add maybe a severum, chocolate cichlid or a uaru and a school of dithers (silver dollars or giant danios perhaps). along with some bottom feeders I think that would make for a very nice setup. :grinyes:
