Am I doing it right?? CL with ich....

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It's a good sign the ick is getting better. Large clown loaches stress easy and don't work well with change. Just keep the temp up and water conditions perfect. Have you tried blood worms?

no BW. i just want them to eat pellets and market shrimp cause that's what i will be feeding these guy once they are in the big tank. BW will not work out with other tank mate.

Also. tonight will be 25% WC and add 1 dose of Prazipro and put back some salt to keep it at .25%

1. Day 1= Add Prazipro and Tank temp up to 86 over night and steady.
2. Day 2= Add .1% salt and 1 dose of Prazipro
3. Day 2= Add alittle less than .1% salt 12hrs later
4. Day 3= Nothing.. CL still cover with ich...
5. Day 4= 25% WC bring the salt up a little over .2% (around .23%) total.
6. Day 5= Nothing.. Temp now is @87. the ich spots are coming back down like when i first got them.

tonight will be WC and Prazipro.

I would say get blood worms or something to get them to eat. They'll be stronger and fend off the ick much better. Also careful with adding too much salt and meds. They're scaleless fish and are sensitive to both

6. Day 5= Nothing.. Temp now is @87. the ich spots lesser now.

7. Day 6= 25% WC, add back the % of salt that was removed by wc,add prazipro

Loaches are show less ich now maybe a couple more days will do it?

Yea keep it up!

Although i still dotn know why youre using meds? All you need to treat for ich is high temp and salt.

Med just for worm, parasite,flukes,etc.. and that's what i did to all my fishes before they go in the big tank but not with prazipro..

Note.... prazipro will makes fishes eat less or not eat at all.... read this on simplydiscus after some searched, but what do i know.. but is seem like it.

Ich are almost gone:headbang2:headbang2:headbang2:headbang2will keep the salt + heat level steady for another week. Prazipro for another 3 weeks with one dose per week. then a drip of 1 gph for a couple day to match up with the main tank....

i've had very good success with daily water change and salt for treating ich on clown loaches
